"Conservation and Reintroduction of Rare and Endangered Plants in China" was published
Recently, the book Conservation and Reintroduction of Rare and Endangered Plants in China, edited by Prof. REN Hai from South China Botanical Garden of Chinese Academy of Sciences, was published by Springer, an international renowned academic publishing organization.
This is the first book to systematically summarize the research advance of global and Chinese plant reintroduction, with the participation of major organizations and famous experts engaged in conservation and reintroduction of rare and endangered plants in China.
The book introduces China’s vegetation and plant diversity, the rare and endangered plants in China and the in situ and ex situ conservation and reintroduction of them, and displays the advance of the reintroduction of 14 rare and endangered plants in China, such as Primulina tabacum Hance, besides orchids and cycas by case studies.
The book is one of the series of publications that will showcase China’s achievements in biodiversity conservation during the 15th meeting of Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD-COP15).
