The 3rd Volume of “Flora of Hong Kong” to be published

  As a result of collaboration between South China Botanical Garden and Hong Kong Herbarium, the 3rd Volume of “Flora of Hong Kong” (English version) is to be published in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Bookshop in Jul., 2009.
  The 3rd Volume of “Flora of Hong Kong” accounts for the origin, naturalization and planting of 49 plants from Loganiaceae to Asteraceae arranged in Kubitzki and Cronquist systems with index tables. For each plant there are detailed citations of literature classification and vouchers (including type specimen), accounting on such data as the habitat, distribution, ecology, model origin in Hong Kong, with 600 plots color photos.
  “Flora of Hong Kong” is co-edited by Prof. Hu Qiming, Prof. Wu Bangde and Prof. Xia Nianhe from South China Botanical Garden, and Dr. Ye Guoliang, Senior Director Li Cunzhi from Hong Kong Herbarium, Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Dept of Hong Kong SAR. The Flora consists of 4 volumes, with the 1st and 2nd volumes already published in Apr. 2007 and May 2008 respectively.
